After graduating in modern languages, James returned to music for his career. His love of piano-playing led him into vocal accompaniment, which natually led into choral accompaniment.
He equally enjoys working with large groups and smaller ensembles, as well as solo work.
He also has a small, but very successful teaching practice and enjoys teaching both adults and children. He holds two professional music diplomas, in piano performance and music theory. James is also MD for a Buddhist choir, which has performed all over the North of England.
He is a fan of all musical periods and styles, but has a particular penchant for the Romantic Era, his favourite composers include Grieg, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Chopin and Beethoven.
Very happy with his current career and activities he believes that music is for all, and that the most important aspects are communicating genuine emotion, and having fun!
